Snap-on is to be congratulated on its 100th anniversary
- 04 Apr, 2025
In 1920 Joe and his coworker, William Seidemann, spent their weekends using their creativity to put together two sample sets of five accessories and ten socket wrenches. Using just these demo sets and brochures, Johnson and Seidemann generated more than 500 orders. With this initial success, the Snap-on Wrench Company was formed. Johnson and Seidemann sought out the expertise of Stanton Palmer and Newton Tarble to market and sell their products. They quickly got their brand recognized with innovative ideas and direct sales. Production began with the opening of an 800 square meter production facility in Wiscousin (USA), and the first 500 orders were filled within six months.
Over the last few years, the brand has manufactured more than 20,000 items and created more than 14,000 patents worldwide, including in the aviation, industrial and automotive sectors.
Currently in 2020, the Snap-on group operates in more than 130 countries with an annual turnover of 3 billion dollars, and is listed on the stock exchange, with constant gradual growth.
Congratulations Snap-on!
